On Labor Day 2018, Lanie Brown remembered a past dream to go to law school. At the age of 52, she began the grueling journey through the wilderness to become a lawyer...
Lanie Brown graduated with honors from South Texas Law where she trained as an elder law attorney in the Randall O. Sorrels Legal Clinics. Following the bar exam, Lanie and her husband moved to the promised land of the Texas Hill Country and settled in Blanco County, where Lanie founded Sage Lane Law, PLLC.
Lanie is a certified guardianship attorney through the State Bar of Texas. She is also a certified mediator through the Frank Evans Center for Conflict Resolution, a published legal writer, and an adjunct professor at South Texas Law. Her professional memberships reflect her sustained commitment to education and excellence: she is a member of the Texas Bar College; the Texas Center for Legal Ethics; and the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
Beyond the courtroom and classroom, Lanie is deeply engaged with Friends of the Blanco Library throughout the year. She is also a sponsor of the inaugural Badges of Blanco County 5K, a run/walk to raise money for first responders to take local school children Christmas shopping. On a personal note, Lanie and her husband call Blanco Methodist their church home, where they enjoy fellowship and serve.
